Battle of the Fives

Level 17: Blinds 10,000/15,000/15,000

"Ok dealer, deuce-deuce-five or five-five-deuce," Luis Cruz said as he prepared to go to the flop with Jason Mabry and Julie Than.

The flop of [ac5c3s] wasn't quite what he asked for, but it did not stop Cruz from betting 20,000 when Than checked to him. Both Mabry and Than made the call, and the three went to the turn.

"Ok, time for my deuce now," Cruz continued but was disappointed yet again when the [qs] appeared. The three players all checked and went to the river [9h].

Than checked to Cruz again, who then bet 45,000, which was followed by a fold from Mabry.

"You betting your five?" Than asked. "Yes ma'am, I am," replied Cruz. And with that, Than made the call and Cruz flipped over [4h5s] for a pair of fives, like he said. Unfortunately for him, Than then tabled [ks5d] for a pair of fibes as well, but with a stronger kicker.

"I can't beat her," Cruz sighed as Than was pushed the pot t increase her stack to over 800,000.

Julie Than: 820,000

Luis Cruz: 350,000

Jason Mabry: 400,000
